Tyler Harris of Ellensburg was officially sworn in by Sheriff Gene Dana on 8/7/2017 as the newest Deputy for the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office.
Tyler is the son of Bruce and Joann Harris of Ellensburg. He attended Ellensburg High school and graduated with a degree from Central Washington University. His wife Gina attended the ceremony along with Sheriff's Office staff. He served as a Reserve Deputy for the Sheriff's Office prior to applying to become a full time deputy. He will be attending the Basic Law Enforcement Academy at Washington State Criminal Justice Training Center starting the end of August.
"It is great to hire one our reserves who has already demonstrated his capabilities. Being a county resident, he already knows the geography and many of the people that we deal with daily.
