Kittitas County, WA -
The deadline to submit an application to serve on the Solar Facilities Citizen Advisory Committee is August 1, 2017.
Kittitas County is forming a citizen advisory committee to assist with the development and adoption of standards and/or criteria for siting of solar facilities that qualify as major alternative energy systems according to Kittitas County Code.In January, Kittitas County Commissioners placed a moratorium on accepting applications for these larger solar projects until development regulations can be adopted to address concerns related impacts to agricultural activities and surrounding land uses. A work plan has been adopted that includes a citizen advisory committee to assist in the process of developing regulations. The advisory committee would meet a total of three times during August and September of 2017 to get input from industry representatives and concerned citizens, identify areas of needed study, review study information and criteria, provide direction for draft regulations, and to review the draft regulations.
If you are interesting in volunteering for this committee, you may download an application at: http://co.kittitas.wa.us/boc/boards/documents/AppointmentApplication.pdf, and submit the completed application to Community Development Services by August 1, 2017.
