Building and Planning Permit Software Changes
Kittitas County, WA -06/02/17 – County will use SMARTGov permit tracking software.
Beginning Wednesday, June 7, 2017, Kittitas County Community Development Services will begin using new permit tracking software.
Community Development Services has been working diligently with County Information Technology, Public Works, Public Health, Assessor and Financial Departments to switch from our existing software to the Paladin SMARTGov permit software. http://smartgovcommunity.com/
With all County departments using the same software, the benefits to the public and the County staff are greatly enhanced. Staff will have the ability to coordinate permit approvals with other departments via the web. Real time interaction of permit approvals will help expedite the permit review, inspection and closing processes. The public will be able to access their permits via the web and schedule inspections online or by phone, see inspection reports, or just find out the status of their permit. Builders will be able to manage several permits in the system with their own login and database of their own active permits. Each permit will be easier to identify for the contractor managing several jobs at once. The SMARTGov system is cloud based and works on most cell phones, tablets, notebooks and desktops; wherever you have web connectivity, you’ll have access to your permits.
County staff will begin using the system (Go-Live) June 7, 2017. The Public Portal should be operational within 90 days after go-live. This allows staff time to acclimate to the system and verify all processes are working.
All permits currently in the existing system are being imported into our new software. Please note that when the permits come back online, the inspection portal and mapping system will be slightly different from what we’re using now.
Kittitas County Community Developments Services believes this change will improve the building permit and land use processes and make access to information more readily available. Thank you for your patience during this transitional time.
Please contact Kittitas County Community Development Services if you have any questions regarding the new software at 509-962-7506.
