Should I attach a resume to my employment application?
Attaching a resume is highly recommended when applying for a position. Some job postings may require that a resume be included. Please be sure to thoroughly review the application requirements.
What do I do if I want to apply for more than one job?
You will need to complete a separate application for each position. If you have previously applied for a position through the employment portal, your basic demographic information, education, and work history will be pre-populated for you.
When is my application packet due to be returned to HR?
Application requirements must be submitted through the employment portal prior to 5:00 p.m. on the closing date. The closing date for each open position will be noted in the posting announcement. Applications cannot be submitted after the closing date.

Civil Service

How do I apply for a Sheriff's Deputy or Corrections position?
These position are recruited and filled following the rules established by the Kittitas County Civil Service Commission. The process is overseen by the Human Resource Department.

Communication / Notification

Once I have applied for a position, how will I know if I am being considered?
All applicants who meet the minimum qualifications and submit a complete application prior to 5 PM on the closing date will be considered. The process of screening and selecting qualified candidates can take a number of weeks. Following this process each candidate will be notified by phone, e-mail, or mail. If you have not heard any news within two weeks from the closing date, contact the Human Resource Office.
What if I have additional questions about a job opportunity or the interview process?

Will I be notified if another candidate has been selected for a job I applied for?

Job Openings

Do I need to meet all the requirements listed on the job announcement to qualify?
Applicants must meet all minimum requirements for the position. In some cases there may be preferred qualifications listed; the applicant does not have to meet the preferred qualifications to be considered for the position.
Where do I get information on current job openings?
All current jobs will be posted on our web site under the heading Job Opportunities, and posted just outside the Human Resource Office. You may also call the Human Resource Office and inquire about available positions.
