Board of County Commissioners: 2022 Strategic Plan
The Kittitas County Commissioners hold the following regularly scheduled meetings:
For a listing of Commissioners' regularly scheduled meetings, see Kittitas County Code chapter 2.04.010.
To view all scheduled meetings or search past meetings, see County Meetings.
The Board will make every effort to be available to county staff and public during regular business hours, while recognizing their schedules and commitments outside the office. Please call and schedule an appointment if you would like to speak to a Board member.
Note: Open public meetings must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.
Cell phones and other noise making electronics are to be silenced before the beginning of a meeting. If you must talk on a phone please exit the meeting area. Please refrain from side conversations during meetings.
The purpose of Public Hearings is to allow the public to provide input/testimony to the Board of County Commissioners on a particular subject.
Public Hearings are usually scheduled at 2:00 p.m. and heard in the order in which they are listed on the Agenda, unless otherwise noticed.
When recognized:
Please refrain from disruptive behavior such as cheering, jeering, or applause in response to other speakers.
The commissioners may ask questions of speakers, time to respond to a question will not take away from your presentation time.
Comments by Commissioners are at their discretion, questions to the commissioners may not be answered, and some answers may be provided during closing comments by the commissioners.
Agenda Sessions are conducted on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 10:00 am in the Commissioners' Auditorium - Room 109 at the Kittitas County Courthouse. The purpose of Agenda Sessions is for the Board of Commissioners to conduct the regular business of County government. Any member of the Board of Commissioners may request additional information from staff, or other parties to the particular agenda item. A citizen, who would like to comment on any matter that is on the Commissioners' Agenda, may do so in writing by providing comments to the Clerk of the Board prior to the beginning of the agenda. Comments shall not be accepted for "closed record" items.
Agenda items must be turned into the Commissioners' office by 12:00 noon on Thursday in order to be placed on the following week's Tuesday morning Agenda Session. Any supporting documents must be received no later than 12:00 noon on Thursday. If the documents are not received by Thursday at noon, that item will not be placed on the Agenda until the following Agenda Session. Any exceptions will be at the discretion of the Chairman. The following guidelines will assist in the preparation of the Commissioners' Agenda. Agenda items should be on 8.5" x 11" paper, if possible.
The Chairman of the Board shall set the Agenda or another Board Member in their absence. Any citizen or group that would like to place an item on the Commissioners' Agenda should contact the Commissioner who represents their respective District.
