Kittitas County is Accepting Proposals to Increase Affordable Housing

Kittitas County, WA - 01/02/2025 - Kittitas County is accepting proposals to increase affordable housing in Kittitas County. The county estimates that there will be $250,000.00 available to increase the available inventory of affordable housing. Proposals can be around acquisition, rehabilitation, or construction of affordable housing. Applications and additional information is available at Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners | Boards, Committees, and Commissions. The application including attachments are due by January 24th at 5pm.

The Affordable Housing Grant 2025 application packet is six pages and has four attachments.  There is a guidelines and instruction document available as well.   Submitted applications will be reviewed by the Kittitas County Homelessness and Affordable Housing Committee.  The committee will then be making funding recommendations to the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners.
 
The money for these proposals comes from the allocation of funds generated by the Document and Recording Surcharge and the Affordable and Supportive Housing Sales and Use Tax Credit.  Information about Washington State document recording surcharge can be found at Chapter 36.22 RCW: COUNTY AUDITOR and Affordable and Supportive Housing Sales and Use Tax at Affordable and Supportive Housing Sales and Use Tax – Washington State Department of Commerce.
