Notice of public hearing to consider changes to the following Kittitas County Code 13.04 On-Site Sewage Disposal Systems and Kittitas County Code Chapter 13.20 Solid Waste Handling Program.

Notice is hereby given that a joint public hearing will be held by the Board of County Commissioners and the Board of Health on Thursday June 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., in the Commissioners Auditorium located at the Kittitas County Courthouse, 205 W 5th Ave, Ellensburg, Washington, to consider the following:

  • Proposed changes to the following Kittitas County Code:

Chapter 13.04 On-Site Sewage Disposal Systems: Adopting the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) by reference in key sections of the existing code where redundancies are found.

Chapter 13.20 Solid Waste Handling: Adopting the WAC by reference chapters 173-304, 173-350, 17-351 in place of an expired code referenced that is currently found in the Kittitas County code title 13.20.

The Board of Health and the Board of County Commissioners may make a final decision upon close of the public hearing or continue the public hearing to a specific date and time where they will review the documents, deliberate, and make a final decision on the Kittitas County Code changes. Any person with an interest in this matter is encouraged to attend and provide testimony.

The proposed code changes to Kittitas County Code can be reviewed during normal business hours at the Kittitas County Public Health Department at 507 North Nanum Street, Suite 102, Ellensburg, WA, or the Board of County Commissioners Office at 205 W 5th Street, Suite 108, Ellensburg, WA.  You may also request a copy of the Kittitas County Code changes by calling the Kittitas County Public Health Office at (509) 962-7515 or the Board of County Commissioners Office at (509) 962-7508.
