Kittitas (pronounced 'kit-i-tass') County is located in central Washington
State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and
the Columbia River.
The Uniform Unclaimed Property Act governs the manner in which we attempt to contact anyone with an
uncashed Treasurer’s check, reissue lost Treasurer’s checks and remit unclaimed monies to the State
for posting as unclaimed property.
Every November 1, the county must remit all outstanding monies for checks not cashed two or more years
prior to the reporting to the Department of Revenue, Unclaimed Property. Until this time of remittance,
the payees on the attached list still have outstanding monies with Kittitas County that can be claimed
from the Treasurer’s Office.
