Kittitas (pronounced 'KITT-i-tass') County is located in central Washington State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and the Columbia River.
Kittitas County, WA - 08/28/2017 - Kittitas County is now accepting applications for 2018 Lodging Tax Fund Grants for Special Events and Projects. This call for applications is county-wide. The application is posted online on the County’s website and can be easily accessed at the following link: http://co.kittitas.wa.us/boc/lodging-tax/default.aspx. The application process this year is only available digitally and must be completed and submitted exclusively online.
The Lodging Tax Grant Program for Special Events and Projects is a collaborative program between Kittitas County and each city in the county which collects lodging tax. Applicants only need to complete one application to be eligible for consideration. The County and the cities of Ellensburg, Cle Elum, and Roslyn will jointly review and award funding. Combined funding available for the grant program in 2018 is $211,400.00. Funds awarded through this process may be used for tourism marketing; the marketing and operations of special events and festivals designed to attract tourists; and supporting the operation of tourism-related facilities owned or operated by non-profit organizations. “We continue to update and improve our process each year through review and discussion,” remarked Kittitas County Commissioner Paul Jewell. “This year we’ve developed a completely digital process that will hopefully be easier for applicants and reviewers alike. There are some changes, so it will be very important that all applicants read the instructions carefully. I would also recommend not waiting until the last minute just in case you encounter a problem.” Commissioner Jewell chairs the County’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee and presides over the joint meetings between the County and the Cities. Completed grant applications are due no later than 5:00 PM, September 29, 2017. More information is available online on Kittitas County’s website.
