Kittitas County, WA -
County Commissioners are pleased to introduce Jill Scheffer as the new Kittitas County Event Center Director.
Ms. Scheffer is an Ellensburg City Council Member and long term resident of the county. She brings to the position many desired attributes and a vast experience in management and event planning. Jill studied Geography and Environmental Studies with a BA and MA from the University of Victoria and has worked in environmental conservation in Kittitas County for many years. Jill will take on preparations for the County Fair and Ellensburg Rodeo which have been underway for months by the Fair Board and Rodeo Directors. She also takes on the task of planning events at the Event Center. In 2016, over 1500 bookings were hosted. In 2017, the county expects to continue to increase the use of the facilities. KVEC has room for large events hosting over 60,000 guests through the Fair and Rodeo. The Event Center has also continued to gain popularity for medium and small events as well being located in the center of the state. One example of this is the Ellensburg Four Square Church occupying the Armory on Sundays until their fire damaged building is ready to be reoccupied. This diverse group of users presents many opportunities and challenges for Ms. Scheffer.
Please join the Kittitas County Commissioners and congratulate Jill Scheffer on her new position.
Jill Scheffer will start on April 10, 2017.
