On June 12, 2018, Kittitas County Search and Rescue volunteers were called upon to assist in rescuing a Duvall resident that had possibly broken her ankle in the Teanaway area.
Anna Wolheter of Duavall, Washington was hiking with her friend on the Bean Creek Trail in the Teanaway near Esmeralda Basin. Ms. Wolheter may have broke her ankle while hiking. Another hiker on the trail was able to hike out and call for help. Ms. Wolheter was located a mile up the trail and was transported out on a wheeled litter by KSAR volunteers. Ms. Wolheter was later transported by private vehicle to the hospital.
