Deputies responded to a head on collision on the Vantage Highway in the area of Naneum Road at approximately 11:40 P.M. on April 23, 2018.
A 2001 Honda Accord driven by 20 year old Ryan Wrzesien from Ellensburg was heading westbound on Vantage Highway when a 2011 Dodge Caliber driven by 20 year old Makayla Wright from Ellensburg was heading eastbound and crossed the center line colliding with the westbound vehicle. Wright was transported to KVH for treatmentfor multiple broken bones and severe injuries. . Wrzesien, was extricated from his vehicle by KVFR and airlifted to Harborview by helicopter for severe injuries . At the time of this report his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. A passenger in the Wrzesien vehicle, Hunter Kipp 19 years old also from Ellensburg had minor injuries and was treated and released at KVH.
Alcohol appeared to be involved and charges are pending further investigation.
